Newport Pagnell Town made it three in a row in spectacular fashion on Tuesday night as they stuck seven past Northampton Spencer.

After a disappointing 5-1 defeat to league leaders Leicester Nirvana last week, they bounced back with a 1-0 win over Northampton Sileby.

They then got into the goal-scoring mood on Saturday with a 4-2 win over Desborough Town to move them up to second in the UCL Premier Division. Fazel Koriya netted all four for the Swans in a fine performance, but they had to come from 2-0 down, something which assistant manager Daren Dykes admits can’t keep happening.

“In the second half, we re-shuffled the pack and were excellent.

“We played some lovely stuff. Fazel ended up grabbing a further three goals to win it for us 4-2.

“In the last two home games we have come back from 3-0 down and 2-0 down.

“Yes, that shows great character but we cant keep giving teams head starts.”

But Darren Lynch’s men left the best for last as they thumped Northampton Spencer 7-0 on Tuesday night.

Sam O’Neill was the hero on the night as he bagged a hat-trick at Willen Road, and the first came after just five minutes.

Dom Lawless netted Newport’s second after 26 minutes before O’Neill made it 3-0 two minutes before the half time interval.

It took 17 minutes of the second half before Swans got the scoring going again, and when they did, they didn’t stop.

Bruno Lobo Brito netted Newport’s fourth of the night, and substitute Darryl Smith made it a five star performance on 76 minutes.

O’Neill completed his hat-trick with eight minutes to go, and Josh Crawley came off the bench to make it 7-0, opening up a five point gap to the chasing pack.
