Less than a week after his father passed away, Scott Fraser dedicated MK Dons' win over Charlton on Wednesday night to Russell Martin.

The Dons manager paid tribute to his father on Instagram following their win over Barnet on Sunday, and watched on as his side claimed a brilliant win over the Addicks at The Valley.

Fraser netted the only goal of the game 15 minutes from time, but had three or four more chances during the game to give Dons the lead, but failed to be an in-form Ben Amos in the Charlton net.

His goal, coming after great work from Lasse Sorensen to put him in, was enough to secure the win in the end, and it was a win Fraser dedicated to Martin.

"The gaffer has had a tough week, so for us to put in a performance like that, I feel I can speak for all the boys when I say that was for him." he said. "He had the bad news at the weekend but was at the game at the weekend, and was with us through the week.

"It would have been easy for him to stay off, but we had to go and get him the win, playing the way he wants us to, he has to take all the credit for it."

Fraser vocalised his frustration earlier this season when Dons were unable to beat Portsmouth despite dominating proceedings at Fratton Park - a feat which has continued throughout the season so far. The show against Charlton though he said shows how far Dons have come.

He continued: "I'm over the moon, it was more than a 1-0 performance, more like a three or four job. At the start of the season these were the games we were losing, battering teams but we'd go on to lose. That shows how far we've come to win that.

"It's a sign of what we can be, it was just about finding consistency week in, week out, no matter where we go or who we play."
