MK Dons lost their first game of the season on Tuesday night when they were beaten 3-0 by Premier League Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup, but Paul Tisdale is not too concerned by his first defeat.

Goals from Lys Mousset, Ryan Fraser and Jordan Ibe saw the Cherries safely into the hat for the third round, bringing about Dons' first loss under new boss Tisdale.

Speaking after the game, Tisdale said he never expected the streak to last forever, and saw plenty of positives at the Vitality Stadium.

"I didn't think it was going to go on forever," Tisdale admitted. "The league form will ultimately be our form. If that would happen, we would be winning the EFL Cup and the FA Cup this year and I don't think that will happen! It had to end at some point.

"You never like losing, but realistically, am I distraught? No, I'm more pleased than unhappy. I'm looking forward to getting back to one game per week, so on to the next."

Three plus points came in the form of Oran Jackson playing 90 minutes at the back, while Osman Sow and Sam Nombe returned from injury to play their first first team football this season.

Tisdale added: "I'm pleased with the young players, like Oran Jackson who gained a lot of confidence.

"I'm delighted with Sam - he has barely trained with us, been back for a bout a week. He showed real strength and Osman is the same. I thought Sam was really impressive. It was a really good effort.

"It was lovely to see Osman. There has been a lot of conjecture about him, and it was great to see him out there in an MK Dons shirt. "
