Tisdale admitted his side were second best to Mark Cooper's side, who only drew level with 11 minutes to go thanks to a Reuben Reid penalty kick, cancelling out Chuks Aneke's first half opener.

The Dons boss said it was a disappointing day, having let slip the lead, and felt Rovers were the better side.

"They played extremely well and we didn't have a great day," he said. "There will be a lot of different types of games this season, that's was one in particular. We weren't at our best by any stretch of the imagination and they played superbly well. But it's a point. It feels disappointing having led, but sometimes things don't feel right as a manager or player, and that one didn't feel right.

"We'll draw a line under it. One thing they did all do was try their hardest. The flow of the game wasn't all together positive but we tried hard and it's a point.

"I haven't got all the answers so I'm not going to give you any! In isolation, every little topic might have a part to play, but we have to look at how Forest Green played first and work back from there.

"As much as they dominated the first half, they created one really good chance after we scored, but we defended the box really well. It's a point. I'm not going to dissect it too much, I don't know what to think yet."
