Sullay Kaikai’s second goal for the club, coming after eight minutes, as enough to separate the sides as Dons kept another clean sheet en route to victory.
It was a win which lifted Mark Jackson’s side to 20th in the standings, leapfrogging Stanley who slipped into the bottom four as a result.
Dons take on Morecambe, who sit 22nd, at Stadium MK next Saturday as they look to make it three wins in a row.
Here’s how we rated the players in the win over Accrington.
9. Mo Eisa - 7
Took up the left-flank role, and had a decent outing. Looked good on the ball, had a couple of efforts - one free-kick into the wall and another deflected just wide Photo: Jane Russell
10. Will Grigg - 6.5
Bullied, pushed, kicked, prodded, pulled back, a workhorse for the front-line Photo: Pete Norton
11. Sub: Dawson Devoy - 6.5
Came on when Dons were under a heavy spell of pressure, and helped alleviate that by offering a new outlet Photo: Jane Russell
12. Sub: Max Dean - 6.5
A real nuisance for the Accrington defence as he chased down every ball Dons cleared away. Probably should have put the game to bed a few minutes after coming on but saw his shot saved Photo: Jane Russell
