Ste Walker, Matthew Sorinola and George Williams are all set to play a part against Burnley this Saturday, but Dons' midfield remains weakened with injury.

Walker and Sorinola both missed out on the Christmas game through illness, while Williams was self-isolating but returned to the fold on Monday with the rest of the team after a weekend off.

However, Kieran Agard, David Kasumu and Jay Bird are still sidelined, as is Jordan Houghton after surgery. Louis Thompson could return in the next week but will be unavailable for the trip to Burnley, and is likely back for the League One game against Peterborough on January 16.

Russell Martin confirmed: "Ste and Matty are back training with us, they were disappointed to miss those Christmas games but they're back and ready to be selected for Burnley.

"George Williams has been back with us since Monday. We gave everyone the weekend off, and everyone has come in and worked really hard over the last few days."

On his injured players, Martin continued: "They're all progressing nicely, but none of them will be back with us in the immediate future. I expect we'll have a good few of them back for the next league game.

"We'll have Louis Thompson back for the Peterborough game as well."
