Ste Walker will bring a different option to MK Dons' attacking line, and a different prospect from his first loan spell too.

The 20-year-old spent six months on loan at Stadium MK back in 2019 as Dons secured promotion from League Two, making seven substitute appearances under Paul Tisdale.

Getting more of a run-out last season, making 14 appearances for both Middlesbrough and Crewe, Walker returns 'a man' according to his manager, and something different to the options Cameron Jerome, Carlton Morris and Joe Mason already provide for Dons up front.

"He's come back a man basically," said Martin. "He came here as boy last time. He's much more mature, physically and mentally.

"Unfortunately, he's not been able to train because we didn't get his Covid test back in time. We thought he would be available, but we got that test back late on so he was able to be on the bench.

"He trained Wednesday, he's still got work to do with his fitness because he hasn't played much, but he looks sharp and strong.

"I'm excited to see Ste. I have to push him so he understands to work hard out of possession as well, but he will be a good addition because he's completely different to what we've got."
