Kieran Agard's second second half penalty proved to be the difference between the sides at Stadium MK, having missed his first spot kick, as Dons extended their unbeaten run in the 1-0 win, while ending Exeter's in the process.

Dons boss Tisdale moved to Milton Keynes in the summer having spent 12 years at St James Park, and admitted to having mixed feelings in the dugout during the game.

Cargill, who made his first league start for Dons, said it was important for the team to put in a performance for the manager, but also for Jordan Moore-Taylor who was booed throughout by the Exeter fans.

"Tis had been there for so long, it was nice for him to get the result today," said Cargill afterwards. "It was really important for him and for the other players who were there as well who were getting a bit of stick. It's really pleasing for everyone involved with the club today."
