After an even start to the game, former Millwall midfielder Ed Upson, now lining pu in Dons colours, headed past David Martin to put his old into the lead.

And it got worse for Dons two minutes later as Aiden O’Brien lashed home a second to double the advantage.

But the lead lasted just two minutes as Agard found the net from the edge of the box.

And nine minutes before half time, he restored parity, gambling on Upson’s long ball forward to lob keeper Jordan Archer to level.

Dons keeper David Martin made two great saves in the second half as Millwall forced the issue, but both sides had to settle for a point.
