Will Grigg might not need much of an introduction for MK Dons fans, but a lot of time has passed since his loan spell at Stadium MK six years ago.

The striker scored 22 goals en route to Championship promotion on the final day of the season in 2014/15 while on loan from Brentford, but Dons chose not to sign the striker and he was sold to Wigan Athletic for the following campaign.

Prior to his two years at Brentford, Grigg was a regular with Walsall, scoring 28 goals in 109 appearances.

Seeming to thrive in League One, his 22 goals at Dons were followed up with 28 a year later as Wigan secured promotion to the Championship. It was that summer which saw him burst into the mainstream attentions with “Will Grigg's On Fire” chants taking over the Euro 2016 tournament in France where he was a part of the Northern Ireland squad, though he did not play a minute in the competition.

Wigan's fortunes reflected Grigg's in 2016/17, with the Latics relegated back to League One and Grigg netting just five league times.

Back in League One though, Grigg once again fired the goals which led Wigan to promotion at the first time of asking, firing in 26.

Again, struggling in the second tier though, Grigg attracted attention from Sunderland and was a deadline day signing for the Black Cats in January 2019. He never found the same form at the Stadium of Light though and had been in and out of the side under various managers during his two years at the club. In that time, he has played 54 games and scored just eight goals.
