Wolves searching for a new den after eviction

Wolverton Town are desperately seeking new pastures after they were evicted from their home in Greenleys.

Last Friday, the club, who field four regular teams, were issued a 14 day eviction notice by Parks Trust, who own the Field Lane site, after ‘various breaches’ of their lease and will be evicted on February 12.

Wolves currently sit 11th in Spartan South Midlands Division 2, and shared a 1-1 draw with Grendon Rangers on Saturday and are set to play host to Aston Clinton this weekend.

A club statement said: “The Wolverton Town Sports and Social Club have been given 14 days notice by Parks Trust to vacate the premises due to various breaches of their lease on 29 January 2016, therefore we have been evicted from the premises as well.

“The Committee are actively trying to source a ground share or another ground to play the rest of the season for all four teams.

“This coming weekends first team game will be advised asap, the reserves are away for the next three weeks and Sundays game has been reversed.

“The veterans do not have a home game until the end of February at the moment.

“We are not looking to fold the FC or any of the teams and we are confident that we will find a solution sooner rather than later.”
