Joe Jacobson's second-half penalty ensured Wycombe Wanderers won promotion to the Championship with a 2-1 win over Oxford United.

Jacobson converted from the spot - his 12th goal of the season - when U's keeper Simon Eastwood recklessly took out Fred Onyadinma with 11 minutes to go when the game was finely poised at 1-1.

Anthony Stewart opened the scoring for the Chairboys after just nine minutes, heading home Jacobson's corner but Oxford were level when Mark Sykes' cross sailed over Ryan Allsop's head 12 minutes after the restart.

It means, for Wycombe, they reach the Championship for the first time in their history, while for former Dons boss Karl Robinson another season in League One as Dons return to the Kassam Stadium next season.
