‘Frankie’ has a reputation as a proven goalscorer who refuses to be intimidated in his pursuit of points.

Since his arrival in Milton Keynes last November, he made his mark with his uncompromising style of play - and in 32 league games scored 41 points and became he club’s third highest goalscorer.

Bakrlik said the warmth of the welcome he received in Milton Keynes was key to him returning for a second season.

“When I arrived last year it was difficult for me and my family but the great guys in the dressing room and the coaching staff made it easier,” he said.

“I’ve met lots of great people working for the team and big support from the fans - they were unbelievable in the play-offs!

“It’ll be a pleasure to play for Lightning again.”

MKL Head Coach, Pete Russell added: “Frank is the best power forward in the league and scores big goals so he brings so much to our group not only on the ice but off the ice. He is a great team player and wants to win.

“Frank does everything with strength and power - skates hard, hits hard and shoots hard. When he is on the ice other teams know and he is the most targeted player in the league but he handles it.”
