Football heroes swing by for Stein golf day
The Stein Foundation Classic Golf Day has been organised by Brian and Mark Stein (who played in the famous win over Arsenal), as well as their brother Edwin.

Hide AdOther Littlewoods Cup stars turning out at Woburn Golf Club are Kingsley Black, Tim Breaker, Andy Dibble, Mal Donaghy , Steve Foster, Ashley Grimes, Mick Harford, Rob Johnson and Danny Wilson. While other former Hatters include Kirk Stevens, John Hartson, Brian Horton, David Moss, Mike Newell, plus ex-manager David Pleat.
The host of big sporting names continues with Harry Redknapp, Glen Hoddle, Ian Wright, John Conteh and Kriss Akabussi confirmed attendees.
The I L Stein Foundation supports of local and South African charities and the brothers set it up in honour of their parents Isaiah and Lillian who were stalwarts of the South African liberation movement.

Hide AdIsaiah was constantly imprisoned by the South African regime and he became the first South African to be placed under 24 hours house arrest. Lillian was tortured and blinded in one eye by the South African secret service.
Brian said: “We are overwhelmed by the wonderful support we have received from all the footballers and sportsmen who have committed themselves to make this day something special.
“Ricky Villa will be flying in from Argentina at his own expense just like he did last year. Everyone is working hard to ensure this year is even more successful than last year.

Hide Ad“We donated part of the proceeds from last year to Woburn Lido and Edwin and I flew to South Africa earlier this year where we were able to build a playground area for Thornton Road Primary School an underprivileged school in Cape Town.
The Classic will be an 18-hole four-ball match on the Marques Course where the celebrity sportsmen will each host a team.
Spectators are welcome to attend for a £20 donation. The matches commence at 10 am and should finish at 4pm.
