Gymnasts leap in to the regional finals

The trampolining team from MK Gymnastics came away from the Southern Region grading with five gold medals.

The day started on a high with solid routines by Callum Hiett gaining him first place at Level 5, 11-12. Following on, Isaac Taylor’s graceful performances earned him a gold at Level 6, 11-12. Both will go forward to the Regional Finals in May.

In her first ever competition Ellie Chapman, the youngest member of the team, came joint second at Level 1, 9-10.

Following in the winning ways, Katy Daniels and Olivia Williams took first and second places at Level 2, 11-12. Samantha Godlum was placed fourth out of 28, in her first ever competition, at NDP Level 3, 13+.

Natalie Cooper impressed the judges and she took gold at NDP Level 4, 11-12. Isaac Cheney and Chloe Sinfield’s polished performances rounded off the day with first and second places at Level 3, 9-10. All three have qualified to compete in the Regional Finals.

Coach Paul Wolfe said: “The high achievements today reflect the team’s sustained hard work.

“I am particularly proud of Ellie, Olivia and Samantha’s performances in their first ever competition, and of the continuing high scoring success of the rest of the team.”
