Pride for MK Gym's jumpers

Three members of trampoline squad from Milton Keynes Gymnastics were invited to compete in the inaugural English Championships trampoline competition.

Callum Hiett shone in the silver competition for 11-12 boys. He led from start to finish taking the top spot in all three routines. Natalie Cooper competed in the silver competition for 11-12 girls. In a closely fought contest she was just pipped into fourth place. Isaac Cheney faced stiff opposition in the gold competition for 11-12 boys and finished seventh.

All three also represented the Southern region in the English Regions competition. Callum and Isaac were part of the silver team for the 9-12 boys’ competition. Isaac dominated the group with two high scoring routines earning him a well deserved first place. Solid routines from Callum saw him placed third and their team was placed first overall. Natalie joined the 9-12 girls’ silver team and finished in sixth place with the team awarded second overall.

Coach Paul Wolfe said: “It was an honour to be invited to compete in the first ever English Championships and an opportunity to compete against the best young trampolinists in England.”
