Trampoline duo are crowned national champions in London

Charlie Roberts and Ritch Clark claimed national championships at the Trampoline League National Finals at London's Olympic Park last weekend.

The duo were part of an 11-strong team from Orbit to be competing in the finals, having battled throughout the season to make it to the Velodrome, which played host to the event.

Competing in the preliminaries were Josh Watters (11-12 boys), Olivia Webb and Imogen Wells (13-14 girls), Millie Heathcote, Rebecca Dormer and Milly Cole (15-16s), Charlie Roberts (15-16 boys), Alice Day and Emily Young (19+ ladies), Tom Winton and Ritch Clark (19+ men).

After some fierce competition, only Emily, Ritch, Charlie and the synchro teams were left in the competition as the finals loomed.

While Emily took a very creditable sixth in the 19+ ladies, Charlie stunned the judges to claim the national championship, while Ritch pulled off a repeat of his preliminary performance to also claim the gold medal and the national crown.

The young pair of Millie Heathcote and Rebecca Dormer didn’t progress but performed excellently to even make the final.

However, there would be one last thing to celebrate as the senior pair took to the trampolie for their routine.

Emily RoxbeeCox and Milly Cole put in a remarkable performance to took an unexpected and very well-celebrated bronze to finish an exhausting weekend.
