Happy Harry lands European title

Harry Huang realised his dream in Russia when he was crowned badminton's European Singles Champion.

Harry came through a tough battle against Danish boy Christo Popov in the final winning 21-19 in the third set to take this prestigious and coveted title.

Harry who has dominated British junior badminton for many years and trains in the city’s TeamForza Badminton Academy has worked with Head Coach Ross Reid since the age of 9 years old.

Reid said: “This achievement is the biggest of Harry’s career to date and places him in a very exclusive group of English players. He is the most talented singles players I have ever had the pleasure to coach and if he remains motivated to work and keep improving, I feel this title is only the beginning for him and World level is achievable.”

Harry parents who have played a big part in his success are over the moon with his incredible achievement which has been a long term goal. Harry now will focus on preparing for the English National Championships in April where he is seeded number 1 to take another national title.
