Hulbert’s fine knock helped put the Northants Premier League strugglers in a good position as they sought out their first win of the season.

But his was the only knock of significance, with none of his team mates able to score more than 16 as Stony were bowled out for 184, with Wollaston’s Christopher Perry finishing with figures of 4-47.

In reply, Stony struggled to take wickets as Wollaston took the game to the home side.

While there weren’t huge knocks, Jack Webster’s 43 and Mark Raplh added 48 to put the visitors in pole position, and they crossed the line in the 45th over to claim victory.

The result leaves Stony still teetering second from bottom of the Premier Division.

Next week, they take on Rushton at Ostlers Lane.
