Michael Farn is determined to help Lightning to some much needed silverware after he signed up for a seventh season with the MK squad.

The 26-year-old is the latest player to sign up to Pete Russell’s new-look Lightning, having played for the new head coach at Swindon earlier in his career.

“I played for Pete in Swindon,” said Farn. “I know what he will bring to the team - after speaking with him and the plans that he has for the team, I knew it was too good an offer to turn down.

“With the right work rate and attitude we should be challenging for every trophy next season. It’s about time we got this team back amongst the silverware!”

Head Coach Pete Russell said he’d beaten stiff competition for Michael Farn’s signature.

He said: “For me it was vital to keep Michael as he’s a big part of our plans and the future. He just loves this club and is excited to be back.

“Michael is a smooth defenceman who can carry the puck well, a good skater and has a decent skill set. He uses his stick very well and is solid in the 1 v 1 situation.

“I’ve coached Michael before in the EPL and when playing for the national team too - you know what you get from him and he’s very consistent in his performance. He is another important part of our group on and off the ice and I’m delighted to have this opportunity to work with him again.”
