MK Lightning are looking for a new main sponsor for next season as they continue to prepare for a year playing home games in Coventry.

The English Premier League club play their home games in the 2013-14 season up the M1 while work to refurbish their Planet Ice home rink in Milton Keynes is carried out.

When they return to the city for the following season, Lightning will welcome their EPL rivals to one of the best rinks in the country, thanks to a £6m refit as a part of the Leisure Plaza redevelopment.

Lightning chairman Vito Rausa said. “To achieve the geographical reach that this opportunity offers – to such a diverse demographical mix for seven months of the year – is very competitive compared with other methods.

“MK Diagnostics is a local business who sponsored us in a fairly small way two years ago, but now they’re so happy with the level of publicity it gives them that next season they are increasing it further.

“Some of our sponsors work in partnership with the club, supplying services, and have been with us for quite some time.

“For example David Lloyd Fitness, Campanile Hotels, Northgate Vehicle Hire and Body Limits Physiotherapy, so that type of opportunity is also available.

“Ice hockey is growing in popularity in the UK thanks to increased exposure. BBC TV and radio covered the 2014 Winter Olympics qualifying games and two MK Lightning players were selected for GB preliminary rosters.

“Sponsoring the Lightning is a very cost-effective way of advertising your business. We will give you Premier League publicity, but not at football Premier League prices!”

“A range of sponsorship packages are available, to suit all budgets.”
