Skipper Adam Carr will return for a 12th season at MK Lightning, and will finally get to play his long-awaited testimonial.
Carr signed for the Lightning in only their second season back in 2003 and hasn’t looked back, last season becoming the most capped MKL player in the club’s history.
Planning for Adam’s testimonial game had just begun when it was confirmed that the long-awaited refurbishment of the Planet Ice Arena in Milton Keynes was to get underway, and would mean the team playing the entire 2013-14 season in Coventry.
But now, with the new runk almost ready, he’s just keen to be playing back in Milton Keynes again.
He said: “I’m obviously delighted to have signed to come back.
“Last season was a difficult one for everyone involved with the club, all the players, management and fans really stuck together in a really testing season which just goes to show what a great club Lightning is to be a part of.
“With our new home almost ready we can all be excited about the upcoming season.”
Coach Nick Poole added: “We’re all thrilled to be bringing back our captain for his 12th season.
“In my opinion Adam is the most dependable and complete all-round British forward in our league, and we are excited for him to lead our team out onto the ice in our new rink.
“Any young aspiring junior would do well to watch the way Carsy operates on the ice.”
