International success for MKTA

A team of 17 MK athletes from just four years old took the international Taekwondo world by storm last weekend when they competed in the XIIIth Internacional Cidade de Peniche in Portugal.

Taking part alongside teams from around the world, the 17-strong team from Milton Keynes Taekwondo Academy was led by Master Cesar, their world-class coach who provides Taekwondo training to hundreds of local children and adults every week.

The team competed in Poomsae (patterns) and also Kyorugi (sparring) and returned with a whole host of medals as well as the best team award, which delighted their coach.

Cesar said: “I am so proud of our team who showed the rest of the world that MK really knows its Taekwondo!

“Our athletes all work or go to school in Milton Keynes and we were very proud to represent our home town.

“I am very grateful to the parents who helped to make this happen and created an unforgettable memory for their children.”
