Sailer Jack Bryant has been named Milton Keynes Sport Achiever of the Month following his brilliant results on the water.
The 15-year-old, who competes for Emberton Park Sailing Club, is the second member of the team to win the award in the last year.
An active sailor at his local club since taking to the water when he was just four, Jack is part of the Milton Keynes & Bucks Youth Sailing Association, a team who took part in a week-long National Schools Sailing Association Regatta in Weymouth where he came 14th out of 70 boats.
Recently, Jack also took part in “Barts Bash” at his club, a record-breaking race held simultaneously by sailing clubs all around the world on behalf of the charity, the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation.
He won at club level, 809 in the global Topper Fleet and ranked 15,450 worldwide - a fantastic achievement from all 30,729 sailors in all types of dinghy’s and yachts worldwide that competed.
EPSC Commodore Luke Fisher said: “We are a family – focused sailing club and very proud of Jack.
“This is a well-deserved award not only because of Jack’s sporting achievements, but also for his encouragement to new members, often staying on the water longer to offer ways to improve their sailing skills.
“He also constantly asks other experienced members for advice on how to improve his own performance.
“He’s an excellent example for the young sailors at our club and for young sports people in general”.
