MK Lakers bounced back to winning ways on Sunday in a high-scoring 16-11 win over Cambridge Phoenix.

Missing a host of players, Lakers started quickly, but were met with a stern Phoenix defence who left them with little time on the ball.

But eventually, both sides settled into a much smoother pace and were able to play better ball.

Lakers took the lead through Ronald, but Phoenix were level shortly afterwards, but it’d be the only goal of the half for the visitors.

Dan took a long shot which rebounded off the korf into Pete’s hands for his first of 7 in the game.

He then scored a screaming long shot to take the score to 3-1 at the half.

Jeni netted her first of the game to make it 4-1, before Ronald added another to make it 5-1.

Pete made it six, and then seven, before Ronald added Lakers’ eighth score of the morning as it looked like a one-sided affair.

Jeni’s shot made it 9-1, before Phoenix finally got one back, but their celebrations didn’t last long as Pete made it 10-2.

The sides continued to exchange scores with Pete and Jeni making it 12-4.

Phoenix finally found their attacking prowess though, and despite another Pete score, the visitors were beginning to close the gap and found themselves within four points of Lakers at 13-9.

Dan F pulled Lakers five up, but once more the lead was pulled in.

Dan W made it 15-10, but with time running out, Maddy netted a running shot to make it 16-11, clinching with it the victory.
