Market Harborough end Olney's winning streak

Olney's four match winning streak came to an end on Saturday as they went down 40-10 to Market Harborough.

It was an uphill battle for Olney from the off as the home side crossed over inside the opening 10 minutes, and kicked a penalty to go 8-0 up on the quarter of an hour.

Brandon Kerr’s boot put Olney on the board, but Market Harborough put two more converted tries over to put the game out of reach by half time as they went in leading 22-3.

Olney started the second period brightly though, as Keegan Anderson drove a maul over the line, and with Kerr’s extras, it was 22-10 just five minutes after the restart.

But back came the home side, hitting the accelerator to put the game out of Olney’s reach. They ran in three more unconverted tries to put the result beyond any doubt.

It means Olney remain seventh in Midlands 2 East (South).

Olney have a bye-week next weekend.
