Meanwhile, a lot closer to home and under a lot less favourable conditions, the rest of the club competed in the two day regatta at St. Neots. The women’s MastersC 8+ of Karen Wilson,

Paula Heywood, Jo Heywood, Jayne Skeith, Lisa Goodship, Suzanne De Maine, Alice Draper and Jen Pilcher, coxed by Chris Wilson, had a deserving win over the 1km course on Saturday, gradually gaining on and pushing past Broxbourne in the final. 4 of the crew (Karen, Paula, Jo, Suzanne, coxed by Chris) followed this up with a win in the MastersCDE 4+, overcoming a substantial handicap of 18 seconds. The women’s squad also enjoyed victory in the quadruple sculls.

The crew of Maude Calveley, Jen Pilcher, Jayne Skeith and (excellent steers person) Alice Draper had a comfortable win against Isle of Ely in the final.
