Red Bull appeared to put their problems in the Far East behind them with a strong showing in the first free practice session in Bahrain.
Daniel Ricciardo set the fifth fastest time of the session with a time of 1:38.455, completing 17 laps.
Daniil Kvyat was ninth quickest with a time of 1:38.661 in 17 laps.
The first session doesn’t reflect fair race conditions though. The Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday will be raced in the evening under lights , while FP1 began at 2pm on Friday afternoon.
Kimi Raikkonen set the fastest time of the session with a 1:37.827, two tenths of a second quicker than his Ferrari team mate Sebastian Vettel. Mercedes duo Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton were 15th and 16th respectively.
