It was hardly the ideal Red Bull Racing debut for Daniil Kvyat, but the Russian is keen to make amends this weekend at the Malaysian Grand Prix.
The Russian suffered a gearbox failure on the way to the grid in the opening round in Australia two weeks ago and didn’t make the start.
The second round of the championship this weekend in Kuala Lumpur offers Kvyat the chance to get back to racing, and put the torrid season opener behind him.
“It’s good Malaysia is so soon,” he said. “After Australia, I wanted to leave the weekend behind me as soon as possible and start focusing on Malaysia. We have good potential which we will be looking to use and hope to extract.”
