The Dutchman got his hands on the new Red Bull RB14 for the first time on Tuesday, with team-mate Daniel Ricciardo having set the fastest time on Monday.

Verstappen's morning running was curtailed by the fuel leak, before more cold weather and rain stunted running in the afternoon session, limiting the Tilbrook team to just 67 laps.

His fastest time of 1:20.326s - around two tenths of a second slower than Ricciardo's time from Monday - was good enough for fourth fastest, behind pace-setter Sebastian Vettel's Ferrari SF71H, who posted a 1:19.673s.

Vettel had the edge of Valtteri Bottas in the Mercedes - the only two cars to break the 80 second barrier - and Stoffel Vandoorne's McLaren.
