Daniel Ricciardo brushed aside Red Bull Racing’s recent ailments to post the third fastest time of the first session at Monaco.
The Australian pumped in 27 laps around the Principality, posting a fastest time of 1:19.086 - good enough for the third fastest during the first 90 minute session.
Team-mate Daniil Kvyat was just half a second back of Ricciardo, posting a fastest lap of 1:19.520, placing him seventh overall after completing 33 laps around the tight streets.
World championship leader Lewis Hamilton, fresh from penning a new three-year deal with Mercedes, topped the timing sheets with a time of 1:18.750, ahead of Toro Rosso sensation Max Verstappen.
The second session of the Monaco Grand Prix will take place at 2pm.
