What ever happened to Dons loanee Jay Emmanuel-Thomas?

Arriving on transfer deadline day in 2016 alongside Alex Revell, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas was expected to help MK Dons avoid relegation back to League One.

Faltering upfront and sliding towards the Championship's relegation zone, the duo were drafted in to bring goals to Stadium MK, but while Revell would prove to be a hit at both ends of the pitch, Emmanuel-Thomas - or JET - would become a footnote.

Starting life at Arsenal, JET was a Championship regular, with loan spells at Blackpool, Doncaster and Cardiff City before securing a move to Ipswich in 2011. After two seasons at Portman Road, he moved to Bristol City where he netted 33 goals in 103 appearances for the League One club, securing a return to the Championship with QPR.

And despite a similar one-in-three record for Rangers, including the opener in a 3-0 win over Dons at Loftus Road, JET was allowed to leave the club in 2016 for the second half of the campaign to join up with Karl Robinson's men.

But after three appearances in his first month at the club, JET began to fade from the limelight. Not seen for six weeks, he made just one more substitute appearance before the end of the season. Revell meanwhile played 17 games and netted four goals.

For the following season, JET was once again on loan, this time heading for Priestfield for a season-long spell at Gillingham. Appearing to find his feet in the game again, he scored 10 goals in 35 appearances for the Gills, but when his spell was cut short in February 2017, he disappeared from the English game. Not kicking another ball for QPR, he was eventually released by Rangers in the summer of 2018.

After a further six months out of the game, JET signed a deal with Thai club PTT Rayong in January 2019 but returned to England last summer and remains without a club.
