Durand and Jones throw long to win

The javelin throwers stood out at MMKAC’s fourth and final event at Stantonbury.

At the event purely held for field events, two young javelin stars stood out for the team.

Eva Durand (F17) won her age group throwing 42.54m. A few weeks ago she threw a personal best of 46.55m at Lee Valley and this distance leads the F17 UK rankings.

Ayesha Jones (F15) threw a personal best and club record of 40.76m and is ranked third in the UK.

Considering neither have been able to compete much during the season, both are excellent throws, and are credited to coach Janina Powell’s hard work.
