Darts sensation, Fallon Sherrock, believes the ‘sky’s the limit’ for female darts players competing at major events after becoming the first woman to defeat a man at the PDC World Championships.

Colin Murray’s 52, sponsored by Grosvenor Casinos, is a 12-episode podcast series which challenges sporting heroes to a game of ‘52’ where every question is left to chance from a unique deck of cards with 52 random questions.

The 26-year-old from Milton Keynes, who became the first woman to defeat a man in the PDC World Championships at London’s Alexandra Palace when she beat Ted Evetts last year, faced five questions from the 52 deck with themed rounds including the riffle shuffle, stacked deck and wildcard.

Available on all the usual platforms including iTunes, Spotify and Deezer, Fallon Sherrock features in episode eight of the series and talked up the opportunities available to her and her fellow female darts players on the circuit, such as Lisa Ashton and Mikuru Suzuki.

Sherrock said: “Everything has changed now. A few years ago, when we were all playing at Lakeside [Country Club] it felt like it wasn’t going anywhere, but obviously what I’ve done and what Lisa’s done in getting the tour card and you’ve got to remember what Mikuru’s done. When I was watching her play [in the PDC World Championships versus James Richardson in sudden death] I was just willing it to go in.

"I didn’t think it would blow up what it did. I mean she was so close and was one dart away [from making history]. If she had got the opportunity, she would have taken it.

“But what all of us have done in the world of darts, I think it’s helped and the sky’s the limit surely, I don’t know what more we can really do.”
