Remembrance race to remember for Burling

The MMKAC athlete won by nearly a minute in Essex

Ryan Burling travelled to Saffron Walden to compete in the Remembrance Essex 10km.

Ryan set off at pace and after setting a personal best and the second-fastest time (29.49) by a MK runner the previous week, won his second consecutive 10km race. However he had to settle for 30.15, 43 seconds ahead of the second-placed runner. 166 completed the course.

Over 1,200 runners went off in waves over two days for the covid-secure MK Winter Half Marathon. All eight MMK runners went off on the Sunday after heavy rain overnight and more during the event.

Dan Webber was first MMK runner home, finishing 23rd in 1:19:24. (4th M40). James Ward was 57th in 1:24.25, ahead of Neil Jones (1:28.00 92nd), Stephen Coomber (1:32.17 145th), Eduardo Usteran (1:45.13 389th), Suzanne Anderegg (1:45.13 (390th), Karen Tinknell (1:47.17 423rd) and Simon Booth (1:59.30 668th).
