Nash appeared to have secured back-to-back fourth places in his Craft Bamboo Lukoil Seat, but stewards took exception to an overtaking move he made in the opening race, handing down a 10-second penalty, demoting him four places.

Provisional results would have had Nash on top of the standings, but his penalty sees him drop from top to third in the table.

“I made good starts in both races,” Nash said afterwards. “But thereafter to be honest it was fairly dull and to cap it all, the stewards later penalised me for what was I thought, a typical touring car racing incident.”
