Pit lane woes deny homecoming joy for duo

It was a disappointing homecoming for Jordan Stilp and Will Phillips at Silverstone at the weekend.

Racing at their home circuit, hopes were high for the pair after standing on the podium last time out at Oulton Park.

But a delay at the end of the pit lane meant they’d only finish eighth in their Ginetta GT55.

With the race declared wet prior to the start after a torrential downpour on Sunday morning, Phillips took the start of the race from 12th, but quickly rose through the field.

Making the most of the wet weather, Phillips found himself running second before a pit stop for new tyres.

Unfortunately for the team though, Williams was held at the end of the pit lane to allow a train of cars past.

It demoted Ginetta back to 12th on the road, but a sterling effort from Stilp, who took over at the next stop, saw him climb the order to restore some pride to finish eighth.
