The pair took third in the two-hour race, despite topping the timing sheets in their Ginetta GT4 throughout free practice.

Sunday’s race began with Phillips out in the Ginetta GT4 for the first part having qualifying fourth for the rolling grid start. Phillips held his position well and maintained lap consistency until he was overtaken taking him to fifth momentarily, but as the tyres gained more heat he then powered on to take back the fourth position and then chipped away into third.

Unfortunately for Phillips, a racing incident on track pulled out a full course yellow flag, proving very frustrating as time was ticking down.

Phillips and Stilp made a good exchange in the small allotted time then Stilp headed out on track, still under the full course yellow flag in P3, when the time came for the all go on the green flag Stilp was ready.

However another driver had other ideas and jumped the start, much to Stilp’s frustration so he fell back down to fourth.

Now on a mission, Stilp hunted him down and took back third place whilst hot on the heels again for the second placed driver, Stilp was chipping away and taking chunks out of their time, this amazingly led Stilp to getting the fastest lap and beating the British GT4 Brands Hatch lap record, with 20 minutes remaining Stilp new that he had a chance for that second place podium, but luck was not on his side today and a red flag then came out due to another incident with a Ginetta catching fire, and that concluded the race placing Phillips and Stilp a fantastic P3 in their maiden outing in the British GT
