Skipper Razzan Mohamed played a key part in the opening two wickets, first dismissing Liam Fox before running out fellow opener Paul Braddy.
Wickets fell regularly, with Newport limping at 34-4, though Lewis Heffron did his level best with an unbeaten 70 to help his side avoid absolute embarrassment.
But he couldn’t do it alone, and Newport were soon back in the pavilion, all out for 130.
