Ricciardo's outburst adds fuel to rumours linking him to Ferrari

Daniel Ricciardo's podium outburst has increased speculation linking the Australian to a move away from Tilbrook.

The 26-year-old feels he was ‘screwed’ (see back page) out of consecutive victories in Spain and Monaco by his Red Bull Racing team.

Team-mate Max Verstappen won in Spain when Red Bull switched Ricciardo to a different strategy while he was leading, and has been touted as the team’s next big prospect.

And after the pit-stop debacle which undoubtedly cost him the win around the streets of Monte Carlo, rumours of a move to Ferrari have only grown in stature.

The Italian team are likely to replace 2007 world champion Kimi Raikkonen for the 2017 season, with Ricciardo said to be high on the list of candidates to move to Marinello and partner Sebastian Vettel - a driver Ricciardo beat in his debut season at Red Bull in 2014.

The Australian though is under contract with the Tilbrook team for next season, but admitted last year that rumours linking him to Ferrari were flattering.

He said: “It is nice to be recognised by a team like that so I will take it a compliment and see what happens.”
