The first race of the March Circuit series at the National Bowl saw a good turnout despite the conditions with 35 riders competing in the Men’s Category 4 race, which was won by Steve Revill-Darton of London based team Sunday Echappee.

Gavin Howell of Bicester Millennium CC took second place and Tom Stead, the highest placed rider for an MK team rounded out the podium with a fine ride into third for the Corley Cycles team.

The Men’s Category 2/3 race continued the good day for Corley Cycles as Jamie Scott and Matt Exley took second and third places, with team mate Marcus Burnett finishing fifth.

The victory was taken by Daniel Bigham for Beeline Cycles RT.

The women’s race, which features Elite as well as Category 2/3/4 licence holders saw further success for Corley Cycles, with Charlotte Broughton taking the win.

The next race programme at the MK Bowl takes place on Saturday March 12, whilst the time trial league continues with the 11.4 mile Stony Stratford course.

But bad weather and a clash with NBRC’s training camp in Spain meant only three riders could race the Astwood course.

The win was taken by Adriana Borowska, giving her a first win in a fine time of 29 minutes 35 seconds for the conditions and time of year.

First time rider Martyn Douglas crossed the line in second place and Ross Kirkbright third.
