Wolves lose friendly but give Demons a run for it

MK Wolves managed to put 30 points on the board against a side three divisions above them in a hastily arranged friendly on Saturday.

Wolves were originally scheduled to take on Cambridge Lions, but their withdrawal from the game meant the team from MK were left without a fixture, and quickly arranged a game with Midlands South Premier Division leaders Demons - the first meeting of the two sides.

And despite the 64-30 final score, it was a positive encounter for Wolves.

In fact, they put more points over the line against Demons than anyone else this season.

It leaves Wolves ready and raring to go for the final push of the season. With Cambridge’s walkover, Wolves are just a point from the summit of the league with a game in hand.

And their next game comes against the league leaders Southend, who also have a +16 points difference over Wolves going into the clash.

The top-of -the-table clash takes place at Emerson Valley Sports Pavilion on Saturday, kicking off at 3pm.
