They begin with back-to-back home matches against Breckland Spartans, firstly this weekend in the Cup, and next weekend in the league.

The Norfolk side will prove a stern test for MK, as they played their debut season in the East RL Premier League last year.

After a season playing at Bletchley RFC, The Wolves are back at their traditional home of Emerson Valley.

Pete Nuttall, MK Wolves’ Chairman, said: “As a club, we found it difficult last year. We were in the lowest tier of the regional competition, and we struggled to tie down regular fixtures.

“This year, we’re up a division, playing in Division One, which means the fixtures will be more concrete.

“We’ve got a great rugby league coaching set-up, and some fantastic players. Those new to Rugby League have really thrown themselves into it at training, and tell me they’re really enjoying learning to play a tremendous new sport.

“We’ve enjoyed a very promising pre-season, with healthy numbers to training. And after all that preparation, we can’t wait to get started. This Saturday will be a great way to test ourselves.”

The Wolves are still welcoming new players – anyone who wants to join can come to training at Emerson Valley Sports Pavilion, Bowland Drive, Emerson Valley on Wednesdays from 7pm.
