Alchester continued a good run of wins in the region, having beaten Bletchley last week and Milton Keynes this Saturday by 31-12.

Alchester were able to dominate the rucking and mauling throughout the game and from this platform quickly took control of the game.

Within minutes of the start of the game Alchester scored a try with the home side seemingly still in the changing room.

Dan Pearson, back at scrum half soon retaliated with a darting run through the centre of the Alchester defence evening out the score.

City lived on scraps for most of the match, unable to wrest control from Alchester’s pack.

It was only a matter of time before their second try arrived.

Alchester scored on the half hour following a simple interception.

Dan Rolfe had collected the ball under pressure from the back of a scrum.

His attempt to pass the ball out was intercepted with an easy try for their scrum half.

With less than a minute gone in the second half Dan Rolfe powered his way over the line to make the score look more respectable.

This only galvanised Alchester who resumed domination for the remainder of the game.

It was well into injury time when Alchester added their final score with a good try from their strong scrum managing to force their way over the City try line.

Despite the loss City remain in fourth place in the league.

Next Saturday, City visit league leaders Aylesbury, another tough match can be expected.
