Bletchley cantered to a 20-10 victory over Drifters to remain eighth in Southern Counties North.

Tries by David Keating, Jason Buckley and Dean Williams and Phil Harman’s boot put Bletchley well in front with thirty minutes to go. Drifters came storming back but Bletchley showed great determination to register the win.

Bletchley planned for a fast start and reaped the rewards with an early try for Keating following quick thinking from Harman after Drifters defence momentarily switched off.

This positive start continued as Bletchley’s forwards and backs combined effectively, playing some of the best rugby so far this season.

Buckley’s try followed shortly after following some excellent forward drives.

Following further good attacks Harman converted a penalty to make the half time score 13-0.

After half time solid defensive work from Keating, Gibbings and Kunyarimwe forced a turnover from which the ball made it’s way to Williams to finish for a fine score - Harman adding the extras.

The bonus point was almost secured after Bletchley were camped on the opposition’s try line but Drifters just managed to hold strong.

The remainder of the game belonged to Drifters who really got going and scored two tries and would have had a few more but for some stubborn Bletchley defence led by Brett Stanniford and captain Adam Fox.

Bletchley had already done more than enough to hold on to register the victory, taking it 20-10.
