Bletchley Ladies celebrated an undefeated league winning season with a trip to the beach, but there was no time for tanning.

Setting course for Magaluf, the girls took part in the Beach 10s tournament, and came away with yet more silverware as they took third place in the competition.

And the ladies also picked up the referees’ team of the tournament.

Playing nine matches, Bletchley won seven, only losing to eventual winners Moody Cows, and narrowly to Cheltenham Tigers in a sudden death play-off.

The ladies also celebrated at their end of season awards.

The prizes were dished out by Engoland internationals Rocky Clarke and Kat Merchant.

The winners were:

Coaches’ Player – Beth Metcalf.

Club Person – Verity Robinson

Players’ Player – Rachael Taylor and Beth Metcalf.

Rocky and Kat also presented Verity Robinson, team captain, with the shield for winning their league. They then presented the team with their league winning medals.

After their successful season, about 10 of the Ladies now take their County honours, having been selected for the Bucks Ladies County team.

The Ladies have one more tournament this summer, before returning to summer training to prepare for next season.
