Bletchley Ladies want to take their cup dreams one step further on Sunday with a victory over Canterbury in the quarter finals of the Junior Cup.

Bletchley’s season has gone from strength to strength, and they remain undefeated in league competition in just their third season playing competitive rugby.

And they are the only team to make the quarter final stage of the competition without any byes to see them into the next round.

The cup run began with Worthing Ladies visiting Manor Fields. Worthing play in the next level up from Bletchley, NC1, and were sitting second in their table.

Bletchley rose to the challenge, and came out victors, 13 -10.

In the second round, Bletchley were fortunate to draw another home game, this time against fellow league players, Peterborough Ladies.

Peterborough were Bletchley’s strongest challenge in the league, although Bletchley had gained an away win earlier in the season, and they managed to repeat this to take them through to the third round.

Bletchley then travelled down to Kent, to play Tonbridge Juddian’s Ladies. Due to some postponed matches after flooding, they sit middle of their table with several matches in hand over the higher clubs, but are competing strongly in their league.

Again, Bletchley took the honours with a hard fought 12–14 win, taking them to their current position.

Sunday’s game at Manor Fields kicks off at 2:15pm.
