Olney’s U9 rugby youngsters have been crowned the best team in Northamptonshire and district after winning the county’s Alliance Cup.

Olney qualified for the final of the prestigious competition without losing a single match as they scored 28 tries in the qualifying rounds, while only conceding three.

And the squad of Collins, Ross, Sawbridge, Fassnidge, Bennett, Dunn, Lavender, Wilmer, Irving, Herman and Bentley-Evans took their fine form all the way to the final to beat Old Northamptonians 4-1 to win the day.

The boys were in fantastic form as they ran home tries from all corners of the pitch, and thoroughly deserved to win their medals.
