Peterborough showed no mercy on Saturday as they ran in six second half tries to crush Olney 49-15.
The home side were always chasing the game, going behind to Peterborough’s first try after just eight minutes.
But Olney were in close quarters with the visitors until the interval. Jordan Letts’ penalty and a Jake Deighton try just before half time saw them go in at the break 13-8 down and very much in the game.
The second half though would prove to be a different story. Peterborough would score their third try of the afternoon 10 minutes after the restart, and then another five minutes later. With a penalty, they led 23-8.
Gareth Cahill got Olney’s second try to reduce the arrears to 23-15 after a strong run from Cameron Cok but it was as good as it got for the home side.
Peterborough punished Olney as they ran in four tries in the final 15 minutes to rack up 49 points and complete the resounding win for the visitors.
