Milton Keynes Water Polo Club finished their last game in the East Midlands League in style with an impressive 11-8 win over local rivals Northampton.
In a game that flowed from end-to-end, and showed all the hallmarks of a local derby, Matt Masters top scored for MK with four goals, while Chris Everett added a hat-trick.
There were also goals from Ross Kemp, Richard Godber and Jim Whidborne.
Good defensive work at the other end secured the victory in a match that was feisty at times but the respect between the two teams ensured it was generally played in the right spirit.
It has been a tough season for the club so the victory was a welcome boost.
They hope to carry winning ways into the new season of the Herts League which begins next month.
The club train on Thursday nights at Stantonbury from 8.30pm to 10pm. New members are always welcome.
